Things you need while you participate in Marathon

A marathon is a long event. You have to do a lot of things as a part of the preparation. The essential things that you might forget to carry are Photo ID, Phone Charger, iPod, and headphones. The basics things that you need to execute requires a clear and focused mind. Know what you need to do? Execute your plans. Give yourself a mental break. Take proper sleep ahead of a marathon race. Start running slow and then try to generate pace slowly and gradually. Make sure that to take walk breaks every 10 minutes.

The important factor

The first step is always the hardest. You might start worrying when the time for a marathon approaches. Remind yourself that you are not the first to start the race and so don’t expect to be last. Sometimes things might not go as planned. Keep yourself away from stress. Ensure to chill out while running a race. Don’t let stress get over you. Be packed with self-belief, trust your training. Know that your months of training will not fail you. There will be people to cheer after you.

Dress Rehearsal

You need a dress rehearsal to prepare for the final showdown. Run for at least 3-5 miles with your shoes and clothes that you will wear during the marathon. Do the necessary warm up for at least 10-15 minutes before running a race or a marathon. Wear the clothes that are most comfortable.

Food and Fuel

Eat breakfast that is rich in carbohydrates and minerals. You can eat snacks 4 hours before a marathon race. You need the necessary amount of glucose and water to keep yourself hydrated. You can also bring sports and energy drinks. Take the fuel in the limited quantity to cut chances of going toilet. Also try to eat something in between the race, Carbs and protein will be ideal.

Extra clothing

After completing around 25 kilometers your feet can feel battered. Changing the shoe is likely to help your feet from swelling and blisters. Your body will cool faster even on a hot day. After completing the race, collect your bag and wear warm hoodie and joggers to control the drop in body temperatures.

Lucky Pants

It is the last thing that you need to do, don’t forget to wear your lucky pants. It will help you physically and will motivate you mentally. Apart from pants, you can ask your family and friends to come and cheer you for the event.
